Ashford Castle Clay Shooting
Cong, Mayo, Ireland
Disciplines
- Sporting Clays
About
Ashford Castle, a historic estate on the shores of Lough Corrib, in Cong, offers clay target shooting in a Sporting Clays area on the estate itself, with targets that simulate typical game from the region. The experience caters to beginners and experienced shooters, always with an instructor and guidance on safety and etiquette. Participants meet at the Equestrian Centre, from where the instructor leads the group to the shooting range; the pin indicates this meeting point, not the shooting station. Participants must be over 16 years old. Bookings are made directly with the hotel, with a 72-hour cancellation policy. There are 50-target packages, group challenges and private lessons.
ClaysUp Take
Ashford pairs a sporting-clays introduction with the atmosphere of Lough Corrib and a historic castle stay. Guided targets inspired by local game make it more than a decorative resort activity. The Equestrian Centre meeting point matters when planning the day; book through the hotel and keep shooting arrangements distinct from the wider estate itinerary.
